The need to keep the libraries alive

The points made by Anayah Baig in her article “The need to keep the libraries alive” (YW, July 22) , about the benefits of using libraries were accurate and straightforward. The writer also highlighted that libraries face tough competition from digital media. Sadly, in this modern era, there are hardly any children who go to the libraries to read books or find references. It’s mostly older people who keep the tradition alive by occasionally visiting libraries.

With the growth of digital technology and internet, people have forgotten how valuable libraries are. In my opinion, we must support libraries so that they thrive, instead of becoming slaves to digital technology and internet.

The capes our friends wear

The cover story, “The capes our friends wear” by Benazir Raz (YW, July 29), was an amazing article as it was written on friendship and friends in our life. Friendship is a special connection, it’s a bond that sticks with people until the end, and even though we have different kinds of friends, we might not always understand them deeply.

The article was not only informative but also amusing, as it compared the qualities and nature of our friends to those of superheroes such as Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Hulk and others.

Thanks to the Young World team for giving us great articles and stories that make our days brighter.

The cover article “The capes our friends wear” by Benazir Raz eloquently depicted the various roles each friend assumes within a circle of friendship. Some friends bring wisdom, some bring laughter and others display courage and other qualities. Overall, every friend possesses distinct qualities within a friendship circle. We must love and appreciate their true selves and how they bring joy in our lives.

Cook-it-yourself

This is with reference to the “Breakfast baguette boat” recipe in the Cook-it-yourself section by Amna Arshad (YW, July 29). It was a delightful treat, as I’ve always sought savoury snacks to prepare at home.

I experimented with the recipe, and even though I didn’t use sausages, I made the baguette loaf using eggs and some vegetables I had on hand. The results were truly fantastic. I request the writer to consider sharing more savoury recipes, particularly those that go well with tea.
