“The divers were sent to the river when the control room received information about trapping of animals and boys in deep waters,” said a rescue official.

He said the rescue workers retrieved the trapped goats from the river during a two-hour-long operation. He said the goats were crossing the river after grazing in the area.

In a separate action, the staffers of the rescue service saved three minor boys and handed them over to their relatives.

The arrested man was wanted by the police in a murder committed in 2017, they said, adding that the police also held nine suspects and recovered three shotguns, a pistol and ammunition from them.
