NAWABSHAH: Journalist kidnapped

NAWABSHAH, Jan 13: A local journalist was kidnapped and tortured by some influential landlords of Sakrand on Wednesday. According to reports, Adam Jamali, a reporter of a vernacular daily and a president of the Sarhari press club, was taking tea at a hotel on the Sakrand-Sarhari link road when four armed persons kidnapped him at gunpoint.

The kidnappers left him near Chor Mori after beating him with clubs. His arm and leg was fractured. He was admitted to the People’s Medical College Hospital.

Adam Jamali told reporters that an influential landlord and his son, nazim of a union council who belonged to the ruling party, had kidnapped and tortured him.

He demanded from the government to arrest the culprits and provide him justice. Meanwhile, journalists of Nawabshah strongly condemned the incident and demanded from the Sindh government to ensure justice.
