LAHORE: An accountability court on Monday extended the interim pre-arrest bail of former chief minister Usman Buzdar and directed him to join the investigation of an inquiry of illegal assets and misuse of authority before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Earlier, Buzdar appeared before the court along with his counsel, Barrister Momin Malik, on expiry of his bail.

The NAB investigating officer told the court that Buzdar had not joined the investigation.

At this, Presiding Judge Sajid Ali Awan warned Buzdar of cancelling the bail if he failed to join the investigation.

The judge directed the former chief minister to ensure he appears before the investigation team and extended his pre-arrest bail till March 7.
