DERA MURAD JAMALI: At least five tribesmen were killed and one injured in an armed clash between two tribes in Bagh-i-Nari area of Bolan district over a land dispute, on Thursday.

Officials said armed men of Lehri and Machi tribes took positions in Ganjlo area and attacked each other.

The heavy firing with automatic weapons continued for several hours, resulting in the killing of five tribesmen from both sides.

Bagh Assistant Commissioner Mir Zaheer Ahmed Zehri told Dawn that four tribesmen belonged to the Lehri tribe while one deceased was from the Machi tribe.

Levies force moved the bodies and injured to district hospital Bagh.

The deceased were identified as Noor Ahmed, Mehboob Ali, Hasil Khan, Gul Jan of Lehri tribe and Naseer Ahmed of Machi tribe. The injured has been identified as Ghulam Shabbir.

Levies officials said one person has been arrested so far while efforts were underway to arrest others involved in the clash.

A heavy contingent of Levies Force has been deployed to prevent further clashes, AC Zehri said, adding the situation was so far under control.
