Pakistan,Sri Lanka and Palestine win lop-sided contests

ISLAMABAD: Pakis­tan, Sri Lanka and Palestine hardly broke any sweat as they romped to comfortable wins in their matches of the West Asia Baseball Cup here at the Pakistan Sports Complex on Saturday.

Pakistan’s pitchers dominated while Shehzad scored three runs as Pakistan trounced Bangladesh 14-0. Captain Faqir Hussain, Umair Imdad, Mohammad Younis and Asad Ali scored two runs each.

Sri Lanka tamed India 11-2, with Amila scoring three runs and Sameera and Hemath adding two each, but the biggest winners on the day were Palestine who crushed Nepal 22-1. Malik Abdullah and Ibrahim scored four runs each for Palestine with Yunis Haleem getting three.
