LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday arrested five more suspects in its campaign against those involved in illegal currency business and its smuggling.

According to FIA, a team raided currency outlets at Maharaja Road, Sialkot, and arrested Ahmad Rahim, Muhammad Aziz, Ismail Ali, Aziz Sajid and Muhammad Asif for illegally running hawala and hundi business. A sum of Rs1.58 million has been recovered from the suspects. They have been booked under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act 1947. The FIA Punjab had launched the drive against those involved in illegal currency business and its smuggling over a month ago in the province and so far arrested 75 suspects.

Most suspects have been nabbed from parts of Lahore, Gujranwala and Gujrat.
