KOHAT: A woman was killed when a speeding container truck hit a motorcycle near Muslimabad on the Indus Highway in Lachi tehsil here on Tuesday.
The deceased was going with her husband and two children. However, her husband and two children escaped unhurt.
Rescue 1122 officials said body of Shagufta Perveen was shifted to the KDA Teaching Hospital.
Police said the truck driver was arrested and booked for murder.
Meanwhile, the police foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs from Orakzai district to Punjab and arrested a man at the city railway crossing on Tuesday.
SHO city Sohail along with a team was checking vehicles when he searched a pedestrian and found 4.5kg hashish hidden in a schoolbag.
The smuggler, Muzaffar of Hangu was arrested and a case registered against him.
