RAWALPINDI: As many as 10 people including a passer-by were injured in a clash between two rival groups over blocking way to vehicles in the Jhatta Hatial area of Rawat on Monday.

Panic and fear gripped the area after exchange of fire between the two parties. Later the police contingents led by SP Saddar Division Muhammad Nabil Khokhar reached the scene and controlled the situation.

Police spokesman said SP Saddar division had launched an investigation after taking into custody 12 people involved in the incident.

According to initial reports, the two parties had gathered to resolve the issue of not giving way to the vehicle, but they clashed after heated argument.

Shaukat Ali, a passer-by was also injured in the incident.

The injured were shifted to hospital where one of them was stated to be critical.

SP Saddar Division Mohammad Nabil Khokhar said that the accused who took the law into their hands cannot escape from the arrest and those arrested will be punished.
