SUKKUR: Anti-govt drive soon: STPP

SUKKUR Jan 2: Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has said that countdown of the present rulers has started and they will be forced to step down.

He said that preparation for a strong protest movement had been finalized and it would be launched soon.

Dr Magsi was talking to newsmen at the residence of Fatah Samejo in Daharki on Sunday night.

He said that strong resistance movement would be launched soon while bringing all oppressed nations of the country on a single platform.

He said that we would never allow construction of Kalabagh dam and would sacrifice our lives for the purpose.

He said that every Sindhi was duty bound to sacrifice for the homeland.

He said that rallies would be held in the country including, Peshawar and Quetta.

BRIDGE COLLPASE: Tension is mounting between irrigation departments of Sindh and Balochistan following the collapse of a bridge over the Shahi Wah near Guddu on Saturday.

Irrigation sources said the chief engineer of the Guddu barrage, Syed Munawar Shah, visited the site and inspected repair work.

Irrigation officials claimed that officials of the Balochistan irrigation department had closed gates of the Pat Feeder Canal without information due to which water pressure increased over gates of the Shahi Wah and as a result the bridge collapsed.

Officials of the Balochistan irrigation department terming officials of the Sindh irrigation department responsible for the collapse of the bridge said that the incident took place due to their negligence.

ARRESTED: About 20 suspects were arrested by police on Sunday following looting of a Karachi-bound passenger coach near Lakhi Ghulam Shah. However, police failed to recover looted amount and other articles.
