NAROWAL: Zafarwal police seized 125 litres of country liquor from the Government Rural Dispensary and arrested three suspects allegedly involved in distilling and selling liquor.

A team, led by Station House Officer Sarwat Hakeem, raided the dispensary where liquor was being distilled and sold. Police seized 125 litres of liquor as well as distillation equipment and chemicals and arrested Muhammad Yasir, Waqas Ali and Rashid Ali from the spot.

District Health Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr Khalid Javed formed a three-member inquiry committee on the report of the sale of alcohol at the dispensary. He sought a report from inquiry committee convener Dr Abuzar, the in-charge of the Rural Health Centre, Zafarwal, within three days. The other members of the committee are Dr Muhammad Adnan, deputy district health officer, and Dr Muhammad Aqeel.

Dr Javed claimed that three suspects who were making and selling alcohol at the dispensary were not employees of the health department.
