KARACHI: A young man was shot dead and another wounded by armed robbers in Federal B. Area on early Friday morning, police said.

Yusuf Plaza police SHO Imran Mehmood said that six robbers riding on three motorbikes arrived at a shop near Sagheer Centre to commit robbery at around 3am on Friday.

He said someone from the shop opened fire on the suspects and the robbers also resorted to firing. As a result, Syed Samiullah, 26, and Mohammed Suleman, 23, who were sitting at a nearby shop, suffered bullet wounds. They were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors declared Sami dead. The condition of Suleman is stated to be stable.

However, the robbers managed to escape.
