LAHORE: Bilal Asim and Abubakar Talha claimed three titles each in the Aitchison College Junior National Tennis Championships which concluded here on Tuesday.

Bilal won the boys’ under-18 singles title when Farman Shakeel retired while trailing 6-3, 4-6, 0-4 and then combined with Ahtesham Humayun to beat Farman and Ali Talha 7-5, 6-0 in the boys’ under-18 doubles final.

His treble was complete with a 6-0, 6-2 thrashing of Asad Zaman in the boys’ under-16 singles final.

Abubakar overcame Omer Jawad 6-2, 6-4 in the boys’ under-14 singles final and then partnered with Zohaib Afzal Malik to defeat Ameer Mazari and Muzamil Khan 5-4, 5-3 in the doubles final of the same age group.

He denied Omer a title when he edged the boys’ under-12 final 6-4, 4-6, 10-7.

Omer lost a third final when he and Ismail Aftab were beaten 2-4, 1-4 by Zohaib and Hamza Ali Rizwan in the boys’ under-12 final.

Amna Ali Qayum won the girls’ under-18 singles title after outclassing Zahra Suleman 6-0, 6-2 while Bismel Zia took the girls’ under-12 singles crown after defeating Hajra Suhail 4-2, 4-5, 4-0.

Hajra also lost the boys and girls’ under-10 singles final which Rashid Ali Bachani won 4-1, 4-0.
