OKARA: After efforts spanning over three years, the district bar association (DBA) has finally succeeded to get a banking court camp at Okara district complex.

The district and sessions judge has specified a furnished room for banking court camp.

DBA senior lawyers Z A Iqbal Khan, Chaudhry Ghulam Mustafa Sadiq, Chaudhry Saqib Aziz and Rana Shakil Ahmad Sulehria with the cooperation of MNA Riazul Haq Juj had repeatedly visited federal law ministry, Islamabad, to get a banking court approved for Okara.

A year ago, the Lahore High Court had approved a banking court at Okara after keeping in view the number of under trial cases being pursued at banking court Sahiwal divisional headquarters. Since more than a decade, hundreds of litigants along with their counsels had to visit Sahiwal, bearing heavy expenditures.

After the establishment of banking court, litigants of Okara, Depalpur and Renala Khurd will pursue cases here.

The bar association has put flexes thanking Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarrar and MNA Riaz Juj for facilitating thousands of litigants and their counsels in pursuing more than 900 cases.
