KARACHI: Accusing former prime minister Imran Khan of attempting to inciting mutiny in the national institutions, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Monday said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief had crossed a red line and it was high time to hold him accountable for his recent comments against the military leadership.

Addressing a press conference at the party’s temporary headquarters in Bahadurabad, MQM-P convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui wondered how the leader of a national party was pursuing his political agenda amidst the worst crisis being faced by the country after the recent floods.

“And propagating his political activism, Imran Khan has crossed a red line and raised questions over the patriotism and loyalty of the armed forces’ leadership while addressing a rally in Faisalabad,” he said. “Now the national institutions should seek an explanation from Imran Khan for his comments. The PTI chief actually tried to trigger mutiny in the national institutions, but failed miserably. Despite that he owes the nation answers to many questions.”
