BAHAWALPUR: Two persons died and four suffered injuries in three different road accidents on Tuesday.

One Adil was killed while his pillion, Bilala, suffered serious injuries when their motorcycle slipped due to rain near Adda Khairpur Tamewali. The rescuers shifted the body and the injured to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Khairpur Tamewali.

A Bahawalpur-bound bus coming from Lodhran hit a motorcyclist near the toll plaza.

According to Safdar of Rescue 1122, Lodhran, Parveen (50) was killed while two others, namely a teenage boy Hamza (8) and Hafiz Khan Muhammad (50), were injured in the accident. The body of the deceased as well as the injured were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Lodhran while police impounded the bus for legal action.

A trailer laden with cotton bales overturned near Pul Mehmood on Dunyapur Road in the Lodhran district. As a result, its driver, Saddam Hussain, was injured. After the accident, diesel had started spilling out of the trailer and the rescuers dispatched a fire engine, which stopped the leakage.

Meanwhile, one Ibrahim (35) was critically injured when his brother allegedly opened fire on him after a dispute over land at Pipalwala Chowk in Basti Karna in the suburbs of the city. Police reached the scene to take action against the suspect who fled from the scene.
