THE energy shortfall has disturbed almost all businesses and individuals. The energy crisis is directly affecting the overall economy. The shortfall has exceeded 7,000MW, and this has resulted in loss of jobs, leading to an even bigger crisis.
In such a situation, the government should come forward with immediate solutions to overcome the ongoing problem rather than focussing on independent power producers (IPPs) as the only hope.
To overcome the crisis, the government should introduce easy loans for installing 5-10kV solar systems for small businesses and households. By doing this, the government can generate energy and will reduce the burden on the grid stations that are running on expensive fuel. It will curtail the need to import fuel for power-generation which costs us millions of dollars every month.
The government must take a decision, and do that quickly, for the betterment of economy and to avert further crises.
The relevant authorities should pay attention to the matter so that the citizens, already burdened with taxes and inflation, may get some relief.
