KARACHI: One of the members of Pakistan’s support staff, Malang Ali, turned a positive test for Covid-19 on Thursday, a day after the national squad’s arrival to Colombo for a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
According to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) press release, the team’s masseur was tested positive after a Rapid Antigen test (RAT ) and was put into a five-day isolation, which would discontinue following a negative RAT test.
Pakistan will play the hosts in the first Test in Galle from July 16 while the second match is scheduled to be held in Colombo from July 24. Both matches will be played as part of the ICC World Test Championship.
The Pakistan squad held a practice session at the Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground on Thursday and will train at the P. Sara Oval on July 8-10. before it plays a three-day practice match at the Colombo Colts Cricket Club from July 11-13.
