LAHORE: The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has decided to install jammers in examination centres and verification of thumb impressions to ensure holding of competitive examinations in a transparent manner.

The PPSC says the plan will help curb the tendency of use of mobiles/electronic gadgets during the examinations.

In order to ascertain the veracity of the candidates and to identify the impersonators, the PPSC has started verification of the thumb impressions of candidates from Nadra.

In order to curb the wrong practices, FIR’s against impersonators and their facilitators are being lodged. Recently a case of cheating/impersonation has been identified by the commission and legal action as per the law is being taken against the accused. “The Punjab police is carrying out investigations to take this case to its logical end,” a commission spokesman said.

The PPSC has revised its mechanism of written examinations/interviews to bring in more transparency and merit-based recruitment through strict vigilance of culprits within and outside.

“The PPSC is observing zero tolerance policy for any intruder, who is found involved in damaging the prestige, transparency and meritocracy of the commission,” the spokesman added.
