HYDERABAD: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Irfan Iqbal Shaikh has accused the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) of using harassment tactics to mint money from traders and industrialists.

Addressing the members of Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry (HCSTSI) on Wednesday, the apex chamber chief said the finance minister fixed the income tax on small traders after consultation with stakeholders and would be announced in the upcoming budget.

He added that energy supplies would only improve after June 30 because negotiations with IMF were still underway.

HCSTSI president Altaf Memon urged the FPCCI to raise voice for controlling the FBR and make efforts for uninterrupted supply of gas and electricity.
