DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Five cases of dengue were reported in Khoi Bhara area of Darazanda tehsil here on Tuesday.

A health department team led by deputy health officer, Darazanda, Dr Umar Khittab, reached the affected area, and took samples of 30 persons. Out of samples collected, five persons tested positive for dengue.

A health department official said the area had been fumigated, and pamphlets inscribed with precautions and mosquito nets distributed in more than 50 houses in the affected area to prevent dengue spread.

The official said the health department was making every effort to prevent dengue.
