ENGLISH is one of the toughest subjects to teach in remote areas. First of all, there is lack of awareness about the significance of English language. Many students and teachers do not find it important to learn English.
In smaller cities, teachers have no knowledge about how to teach English to multilingual students. They teach it with the help of regional languages to make students feel comfortable in the class.
In a multilingual environment, it is difficult to give necessary attention to a foreign language. People lack the required exposure and are unable to invest adequate time to learn the language.
Universities across the country produce many graduates of English language. Some of them find jobs in the main cities, while others return to their native areas. These graduates struggle to create a space for themselves.
They are considered wrong for using the correct teaching methodologies.
The relevant authorities should take serious actions against teachers who use wrong trends and teaching methods.
The government must ensure that every subject is taught by a subject expert as they have spent getting trained to facilitate a smooth learning process.

GIFTS AND CHOICE: We have all heard the “my gifts, my choice” retort in recent days. The gifts that have been sold in the market had been given not to an individual, but to the office of the prime minister of Pakistan. “Selling one’s own assets is not a crime” is not an argument fair enough in this context.

DISINFORMATION: A video clip has gone viral on social media allegedly showing streamers related to a zakat campaign being taken down. It is extremely unfortunate that without checking facts, a false narrative is being built around these visuals, claiming that the government is responsible for taking them down. It is sad how people who should act responsibly are participating in spreading disinformation, using a charitable hospital for political gains. Some people are promoting hatred and polarisation.

TEARING US APART: The current political environment has made us completely forget morality and basic manners. A charged political environment has rendered us intolerant. We run out of patience during political discussions and cannot stand someone who has a different opinion. Verbal abuse against each other has also become a norm in society. A couple of days ago, I was horrified to hear the dreadful news that a young man was killed in Taxila during a political discussion. The government, political parties and citizens need to work in unison to stop this disease from spreading and nip it in the bud.

PENDING VERDICT: I have filed a land-grabbing case in the court of assistant commissioner of Talagang. All the legal formalities have been fulfilled. Ironically, the verdict is in my favour, but I have been asked to file the case again. Likewise, I have another case pending in the said court the hearing of which has been delayed for long. Is this what we call good governance where despite being the owner of the land, you cannot have justice?
