RAWALPINDI: People were deprived of valuables including gold jewelry worth over Rs2 million in seven robberies and burglaries in the garrison city on Tuesday.

Mehmood Qasim Khan, a resident of Satellite Town, complained to the police that some burglars broke into his house and stole gold jewelry worth Rs1.1 million, one I-Pad valuing Rs100,000, costly perfumes and clothes.

Ms Atifa Rafiq, lodged a similar complaint with the New Town police that a robber snatched gold jewellery she was wearing and Rs15,000 in cash.

Kaleemullah, a resident of Loralai, was on his way to a hostel in Dhoke Kala Khan when he was intercepted by two armed men forced him to give up cash and mobile phone. When Kaleem tried to overpower them he was stabbed and injured.

Ijaz Hussain Mughal, complained to the police that his son and daughter were entering their house after shopping when two armed men blocked their way and robbed them of gold jewellery worth Rs1 million, mobile phone and wrist watch worth Rs150,000.

Another person was robbed of Rs22,000 by two gunmen in Naseerabad area while Mohammad Ayaz Mehmood was shot and injured and robbed of cash and three mobile phones by two persons in Naseerabad.

Chaudhary Abdul Kareem, a resident of Westridge complained to the police that two gunmen snatched his two mobile phones, Rs60,000 in cash and ATM cards and escaped.

Raheel Arshad reported to the police that two persons appeared on the scene and snatched his mobile phone and cash at gunpoint in Pirwadhai.
