ISLAMABAD: A woman murdered her two daughters following an argument with her husband and later tried to commit suicide here on Thursday, police said.

The victims were identified as Farah, 5 and Hoor, 3. The incident took place in the area of Shams Colony where the woman tied a rope with the ceiling of her house and hanged both her daughters.

She was trying to hang herself as well when a man from her neighbourhood spotted her and informed police.

Police reached the spot and found bodies of the minors.

The woman has been taken into custody whereas the deceased were shifted to the hospital for autopsy.

During preliminary investigation, the woman told police that she had gotten annoyed with her husband as they had an argument when he left for Peshawar three days ago.

She said she had been asking him to come back but he did not which led to another harsh exchange of words between them and this is the reason, she killed her daughters.
