LAHORE: Bringing the old and the new together in a creative endeavour, the Lahore Arts Foundation Trust (LAFT) is set to inaugurate at the Lahore Fort on Sunday (today) an exhibition of works of well-known contemporary artists and sculptors from Pakistan as well as from countries as far afield as Austria, France, Germany, and the United States.

The works displayed in the historic setting of the Lahore Fort belong to artists with genres and styles as diverse as they are diverse. They include Amin Gulgee, Jami Dehlavi, Marlene Hausegger, Malcolm Hucheson, Aqueel Solangi, Larissa Sansor, Kamil Khan Mumtaz, Katia Kameli and Timo Nasseri.

A number of artists have travelled to Lahore along with their work to be a part of this unique event.

Pakistan’s former foreign secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani will be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony which will also by attended by the cultural and political attaches from some countries.

According to Sabah Husain, the Curator and a founding trustee of LAFT, the exhibition will progressively enhance its scope to feature other dimensions of Pakistan’s tangible as well as intangible heritage over the next four weeks, concluding on April 4.

Meanwhile, a parallel exhibition on the East Asian aesthetic and contemporary prints is being held by LAFT at the National College of Arts with its collaboration.
