NAROWAL: A group of 200 cyclists from Lahore on Sunday visited the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur.

The cyclists of Ashiana Cycling Club, Lahore, visited the holy place and the tour was organised by the Tourism Department Corporation of Punjab (TDCP).

Kartarpur Management Unit Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Latif welcomed the participants on arrival at the place. Officials presented bouquets to actor Kashif Mehmood, in-charge of the club, and other guests. They also enjoyed food at Langar Hall.

The cyclists including children visited various parts of the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib. Officials also gave briefing to the visitors on the importance of the places they visited as well as Kartarpur Corridor project. The club members also met Sikh pilgrims visiting the gurdwara.

The Indian Sikh pilgrims expressed their joy by meeting locals. The district administration earlier arranged a function in the honour of the club members. Secretary Tourism Asadullah Faiz said Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar were promoting religious harmony in Punjab. He said various events were being organised to ensure peace in society. He said the participation of women and children in the cycle rally had made it a truly family event.

Kashif Mehmood said cycling was a complete medicine. He said cycling keeps a person fully alert and energetic. He said it could help control air pollution. “We have a tag (happy family) in cycling,” he said.

Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar arranged refreshments for the visitors and gave shields to them.
