PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (EZDMC) in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan arranged an interactive awareness session for industrialists of Mohmand tribal district at the Mohmand Economic Zone (MEZ).

The representatives of Economic Revitalisation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata (ERKF) project, Smeda, TDAP, SBP, KP EZDMC, UBL, MCB, HBL, BOP, BOK and Meezan Bank, local community and MEZ industrialists attended the event at the Mohmand zone office.

The industrialists were briefed about new products by the Smeda, SBP, TDAP and local banks for financing from different banks and grants available that could benefit in establishing new industries, upgradation of existing ones, running finance and export-related schemes.

MEZ is spread over 350 acres with a leasable area of 257 acres located at the junction of Mohmand, Peshawar and Bajaur. It is 25km from the Peshawar-Torkham Highway in Michni area.

Total investment in colonisation is around Rs7.6 billion and the zone anticipates generating 56,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. The session ended with an open discussion of industrialists with the panel.

KP EZDMC’s manager industrial facilitation and support assured the industrialists that the company would arrange more such sessions for them.
