BAHAWALNAGAR: The district police arrested a man within a few hours after the CCTV footage of harassing and humiliating two women went viral on social media on Monday.

According to police sources, some people often harassed and humiliated girls in Madni Colony and the citizens had filed several complaints to the B-Division police regarding the matter.

They said that on Monday the video made rounds on social media in which a motorcyclist could be seen fleeing after touching and abusing two passersby women in a street of Madni Colony.

They said the police conducted a search operation with the help of CCTV footage and arrested suspect Aleem, of Mohalla Nizampura.

The B-Division police said that the man had confessed to the crime and an FIR had been registered against him under section 354 of the PPC.

ELECTROCUTED: A young Eagle Squad official was electrocuted in Chishtian on Sunday.

According to police sources, Muhammad Hasan Shah, of Chishtian, who was deputed at the Shehar Farid Police Station, went home after performing his duty on Sunday evening.

He died after getting a severe electric shock from an electric water pump as he switched on the pump to wash his hands, they added.
