QUETTA: At least 13 people were injured in an explosion in Kharan district of Balochistan on Tuesday.

A police officer said that an improvised explosive device (IED) was attached to a motorcycle which was parked on a road. The IED was detonated by remote control when a vehicle of Frontier Corps was passing through the area.

He said all the people injured in the explosion were civilians, adding that the FC personnel travelling in the vehicle remained unhurt.

Nearby shops and vehicles were damaged by the blast.

Meanwhile, the banned Balochistan Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for the blast that took place in Hub town on Monday. Political leader and tribal elder Mir Akram Sajidi was killed and two other people with him were injured in the blast.
