ISLAMABAD: A man died and five people were injured due to a gas cylinder blast in the jurisdiction of Shams Colony police station on Sunday.

According to a police spokesperson, the incident took place on the seventh floor of Landmark Residents Plaza in H-13.

The deceased was identified as Shah Jahan, 34. A police official said two of the injured were residents of E-11/3 and I-8/4.

“One woman is a resident of F-11/1 and other is a resident of H-13. Address of the third woman could not be traced as she lacked identification card,” he said.

Duty Officer Sub-Inspector Zafar, while talking to Dawn said: “We have shifted all the injured to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences where medical treatment is being provided to them.”
