SUKKUR: Activists of political, religious and social organisations, officials of government departments and members of civil society held rallies in several Sindh towns on Wednesday to observe Oct 27 as black day in memory of Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir 73 years ago.

In Kandhkot, Deputy Comm­issioner Munawar Ali Mithyani led a rally to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethern. On Oct 27, 1947 India occupied Jammu and Kashmir and began a cruel drive of repression against innocent people.

The other speakers said that entire Pakistani nation stood by people of Kashmir through thick and thin.

MIRPURKHAS: Officials of district administration and other government departments, schoolchildren, teachers, doctors and citizens participated in a rally staged here to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethern.

The participants in the rally started their march from Municipal Complex and arrived at local press club where their leaders condemned in speeches the Indian government and demanded the international forum ensure implementation of its own resolutions on Kashmir.

Similar rallies were staged in Digri, Mirwah Gorchani, Jhuddo, Naokot, Kot Ghulam Mohammad and Sindhri towns.

BADIN: The district administration organised a big rally to mark the black day in which government officers, members of NGOs, media and general public took part.

The speakers at the rally said that the objective of observing the black day was to express solidarity with repressed Kashmiri brethern and draw peoples’ attention towards Indian forces’ barbarism in occupied Kashmir.
