PESHAWAR: Small Industries Development Board (SIDB) has warned the allottees of the industrial estates to pay their arrears by November 15 or face legal action.

A statement issued here on Tuesday said the relevant officers of all industrial estates had been directed to issue notices to all the defaulters within three days to ensure recovery of arrears within the stipulated period.

It said the action against the defaulters was aimed at resettlement of the estates.

The statement said SIDB was trying to provide basic facilities like water, electricity, gas and drinking water in the industrial estates.

It said Syed Zafar Ali Shah, the SIDB managing director, had directed the officials to take steps on emergency basis for the establishment of KP Small Industrial Estate Peshawar 2. He said the small industrial zone would be located 14 kilometres from the existing industrial zone on the main Indus Highway, would have units producing foods and drinks, printing, weapons and plastic.

Mr Shah said billions of rupees were expected to be invested in the industrial zone, which would also generate thousands of jobs.

He said sanitation system should be improved in all the industrial zones in the province.
