BAJAUR: The activists of Insaf Welfare Wing here on Friday criticised Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MNA Gul Dad Khan for registering an FIR against 13 of their colleagues and threatened to launch an agitation against the lawmaker if it was not withdrawn immediately.

Addressing a press conference in Bajaur Press Club, Insaf Welfare Wing (IWW) district president Imran Mughal said the MNA had registered the First Information Report against 13 senior activists for their alleged participation in a protest demonstration against him outside his Sadiqabad House last month.

Mr Mughal, whose name was also among the nominated persons, said they had nothing to do with the protest.

Flanked by PTI district president Dr Khalilur Rahman, the IWW district president said all the activists who had been nominated in the FIR were not part of the protest.

He said the police had arrested five of the activists, including IWW district vice-president Mansoor Khan. He feared that the remaining nominated activists would also be arrested. He said that registration of an FIR against sincere workers had disappointed the party activists in the district.

The PTI district president and other leaders also criticised the lawmaker for taking action against party workers who had played a vital role in his election campaign.

They urged Prime Minister Imran Khan and KP chief minister to take notice of the issue and ensure release of the detained workers and withdrawal of FIRs.

Later, the IWW activists held a protest walk against the MNA in Khar Bazaar.
