LARKANA: Two women masquerading themselves as vaccinators committed a house robbery in the Rehmaptpur locality of the city on Saturday.

Anwar Dasti, a court employee, told local reporters at the Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) that the women posing themselves as health workers knocked at the door of his house and asked his wife to get all family members vaccinated against Covid-19 and polio. When she told them that all family members had already been vaccinated, one of the women brandished a gun and they forced their entry into the house, said Mr Dasti.

He said the intruders kept inmates holding at gunpoint while collecting cash and valuables. One of the inmates, Farzana Dasti, fell unconscious during the episode, he added.

She was admitted to the CMCH for treatment.

Mr Dasti claimed that the women robbers took away gold jewellery weighing six tolas and Rs630,000 in cash.

Rehmatpur police visited the house, collected evidence and started a hunt for the robbers.
