LAHORE: Khwaja Nazimuddin, Member of the Direct Action Committee of the All-India Muslim League, in an interview here today [Sept 23] said he was confident that the Muslim League will be able to “successfully maintain the non-violent character of its Direct Action campaign whenever it is launched”.

“The Muslamans are a disciplined nation and they will carry out the mandate of the Muslim League and the Qaed-e-Azam unhesitatingly,” said the one time Bengal Premier. Answering a question on the recent Calcutta and Bombay disturbances Khwaja Nazimuddin said: “At these places the fight was forced on us. We were attacked and then we retaliated.” — News agency

[Meanwhile, as reported by a news agency from London,] Mr Yusuf Abdullah Haroon, President of the Sind Muslim League, is flying from London to Paris on Thursday [Sept 26] in the hope of seeing M. Vyacheslav Molotov, the Soviet Foreign Minister, and appealing for Soviet support in raising the Muslim claim for Pakistan before the United Nations’ Assembly and Peace Conference….
