LAHORE: A leading chain of supermarkets on Tuesday became the first to set up a fast-charging station for electric vehicles (EV) at any retail store in Pakistan.

The charging station was inaugurated by Marek Minkiewicz, managing director of the company at its store (Metro), near Thokar Niaz Beg in Lahore.

“We reaffirm our commitment towards ‘environment sustainability’ and being a responsible business, we have installed this station,” Mr Minkiewicz said while speaking at the inauguration ceremony. The station (ABB Terra 54) presents an opportunity to the people of Lahore to charge their electric vehicles in a short period.
