ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Tuesday asked information technology (IT) service providers to provide services to retailers until the implementation of new rules.

To facilitate retailers and for seamless integration, the current IT service providers will continue to provide services to their clients till such time the FBR notifies the licensed providers, an announcement by the FBR said.

The FBR has issued rules for licensing of IT Service Providers, rendering IT services to retailers undergoing integration with FBR vide SRO 1063 (I)/2021. The operationalisation of licensing regime may take some time to complete the licensing process, added the announcement.
