LAHORE: Punjab has reported 1,848 Covid-19 cases and 30 deaths stemming from the coronavirus over the past 24 hours.

As per health department figures on Tuesday, the provincial tally of the cases has risen to 405,005, while the virus’ death toll increased to 12,096 in Punjab.

During the last 24 hours, as many as 708 cases were reported in Lahore, 243 in Rawalpindi, 143 in Sargodha, 97 each in Multan and Faisalabad, 56 in Bahawalpur, 38 in Gujranwala, 37 in Rahim Yar Khan, 36 in Toba Tek Singh, 34 in Sialkot, 33 each in Khanewal and Dera Ghazi Khan, 28 in Mianwali, 26 in Muzaffargarh, 22 in Okara, 18 each in Gujrat, Jhang and Layyah, 16 in Pakpattan, 14 each in Sheikhopura, Lodhran and Sahiwal, 13 in Bhakkar, 12 each in Vehari and Khushab, 10 in Rajanpur, 9 in Chakwal, 8 each in Bahawalnagar and Kasur, 6 each in Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin, 5 each in Attock, Chiniot and Nankana Sahib, and 3 cases were reported each in Jhelum and Narowal.

On Monday, the overall positivity rate was recorded at 7.8 per cent across the province, while in the provincial capital (Lahore) it was 12.1pc, Rawalpindi 14.8pc, Multan 6.4pc, Faisalabad 5.8pc and Gujranwala 5.3pc.
