LAHORE: An excellent break of 119 by Punjab’s Hamza Ilyas spurred him on to reach the quarter-finals beating Mohammad Musa of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 3-0 on second day of the SGL First National Under-17 Snooker Championship here on Sunday.

Hamza earned the feat in the first frame while his rival didn’t open his account before wrapping up the match by winning the next two frames quite easily 61-8, 96-8. Others who also entered the last-eight round were Ahsan Ramzan (Punjab), Jahanzaib Jahangir (Balochistan), Mohammad Hasnain Akhtar (Sindh), Zubair Tahir (Punjab), Muzammil Sheikh (Punjab), Muzammil Malik (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and Haroon Saleem (Sindh). Zubair toppled Muzammil Malik 3-1 with a scoreline of 78-44, 23-52, 52-40, 67-41.

All remaining matches remained one-sided.
