LAHORE: PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, days after she extensively ran the Azad Jammu and Kashmir election campaign.

According to PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb, Ms Nawaz after contracting the virus has quarantined herself. She asked the people to pray for early recovery of coronavirus patients including Maryam.

Maryam in a tweet said: “Overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers & good wishes. Means a world. I have fever, cough and flu symptoms but am being treated at home. Thank you once again.”

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said he was saddened to hear about Maryam’s testing positive.

He prayed for her recovery and others who contracted the virus.

Meanwhile, the PML-N on Wednesday finalised candidates for the Cantonment and Walton Cantonment boards elections on 10 wards.
