CHAGAI Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani has taken notice of the scarcity of drinking water in his native town Nokundi.

In a letter, the principal secretary of the Senate chairman urged the chief secretary to deploy necessary staff at the Ghat Baroth Water Supply Scheme to ensure supply of drinking water to Nokundi in Chagai district at the earliest.

The letter sent on Friday stated that people of the area were facing difficulties because of non-availability of water in Nokundi.

“The Senate chairman has desired that necessary directions may please be issued for release of funds for smooth functioning of the scheme and taking action against officers involved in inordinate delay of the project under intimation to this secretariat,” the letter added.

Meanwhile, residents of some localities in Dalbandin are also facing acute shortage of drinking water.
