SHANGLA: The police have arrested three persons over abduction and sale of a woman along with her two children.

Puran DSP Pervaiz Khan and SHO Aloch Usman Ali told a press conference here on Sunday that a woman belonging to Makra area of Puran, along with her two children was abducted by two men and later taken to Ziarat district of Balochistan, where she was sold to a man for Rs400,000. They said the woman had been recovered and handed over to the relatives.

Mr Pervaiz said Sher Mohammad, a relative of the woman, had filed a complaint with the Aloch police last month, after which they had started an investigation.

“After receiving information about the woman we formed a team and sent it to Ziarat, where they not only recovered the woman and both her children, but also arrested the man whom she was sold to.

Mr Pervaiz said on the identification of Abdur Rasool, the man who had purchased the woman, the police arrested the remaining two culprits namely Rasheed Ali and Umar Hayat, the residents of Matta area of Swat, and also recovered Rs400,000 from them.

He said FIRs had been registered against the men.
