QUETTA: Members of the Balochistan Assembly Sanaullah Baloch and Zeenat Shahwani and representatives of civil society Zia Baloch, Salam Khan and Bahram Lehri have called for implementation of laws about the rights of minorities, women and workers.

Speaking at a meeting on women and minorities rights organised by Hard Balochistan here on Thursday, they said a positive mindset must be formed at the public level to create a civilised society, to consider minorities and women as equal citizens and to uphold their rights.

“Educated and talented youths are forced to stumble into exile due to unemployment,” they said, adding that the provincial government had been doing injustice to the youths and other sections of society against which opposition parties had been protesting in the streets for days.

They said that the minority was a distant thing, even the people belonging to the majority community in Balochistan were not getting their rights, the talented and educated youths were suffering due to unemployment and not getting employment timely.

The speakers said the legislation was enacted but its implementation was not possible.
