SUKKUR IBA University is a known academic institution in Sindh. Recently, its testing service (STS) invited applications for various positions in Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Archives Department of Sindh. The STS is charging Rs700 per application from each candidate. If candidates wish to apply for more than one post in different directorates, they are required to submit separate applications along with Rs700 for each application.
This translates into a hefty amount depending on the number of positions a candidate wants to apply for.
This exorbitant fee is absolutely unfair, particularly working against the competent candidates from the low socioeconomic class. The other government testing services charge Rs300-500 per application form.
The Sindh government must take stern action against the practice, and set a fee that is affordable. Moreover, the government must introduce a uniform fee structure for jobs so that the candidates do not have to suffer because of high fee.
