RAWALPINDI: The Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled an attempt to smuggle 6.5kg of narcotics and arrested a passenger in Islamabad International Airport (IIA) on Tuesday.

A security official said the seizure was made when a security check of passengers for a flight for Doha was in progress. After the ASF staff spotted a suspicious pack in the suspect’s suitcase during scanning, they demanded a search. During search, they found 6.54kg of ice heroin, concealed in the trolley bag. The passenger was taken into custody and handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force for further legal proceedings.
