RAWALPINDI: Three persons were murdered in separate incidents in the garrison city during the last 24 hours.

Police said the first incident happened in the Saddar Bairooni area on Tuesday night, the second incident occurred in Qasimabad Peshawar Road, while the third murder was reported with Saddar Bairooni police on Wednesday night.

Chaudhary Wasim, resident of Quaid-i-Azam colony complained to the Saddar Bairooni police that he was sitting at his showroom on Tuesday night when he heard the sound of gunshots from the opposite shop where his brother also owned a showroom.

He said on hearing the gunshots, he rushed towards his brother’s showroom where he found him lying in a pool of blood on a coach. He said he was informed by Chaudhary Tanveer that he was chatting with Nadeem when two unidentified motorcycle riders entered his showroom.

He said as Nadeem tried to get up, he was thrashed by one of the intruders. Later Nadeem was shot by the gunman that claimed his life. The motive behind the murder was being investigated by police.

Ishtiaq Hussain, 30, resident of Misrial road was gunned down by his rivals in the limit of Naseerabad area, while Aftab Kaleem, 45, a resident of Saddar Bairooni was murdered over petty issue.

Initial police report suggested that Aftab Kaleem had a brawl with some people in the morning over an issue of Rs40. At that time the issue was resolved but after sometime the opponents appeared there and shot and killed him.
