KARACHI: Local Government Secretary Syed Najam Ahmad Shah paid a visit to the Dhabeji Pumping Complex on Sunday and ordered immediate repair of all leakage points, says a press release.

It added that the secretary issued instructions to for an uninterrupted supply of water to the city.

Karachi Water and Sewerage Board managing director Asadullah Khan was also present.

Mr Najam Shah went round various sections of the complex and also took a close look at the water supply process.

Express his views during the inspection, Mr Shah said that the LG department was keen to work on modern and scientific lines to ensure an uninterrupted supply of water to the city.

KWSB staff told to plug all leakage points immediately

In this regard, he added, services of world renowned experts had been obtained.

According to him, several projects are being implemented for the timely fulfillment of water needs of all residential and commercial areas of Karachi and a comprehensive strategy is being formulated in view of the city’s future requirement.

During the visit, the secretary also reviewed efficiency and working of various pumping stations and gave necessary instructions to the deputed staff for an improvement in their performance.

Later, the local government secretary visited several bay points and discussed with KWSB officials water requirement of the city in the near future as well as feasibility of the establishment of water desalination plants.
