Vaccination centre set up at Quetta civil secretariat

QUETTA: A coronavirus vaccination centre was opened at Civil Secretariat on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary of the Services & General Administration Department Bilal Ahmed Jamali urged the employees of the secretariat to get their families vaccinated as well.

He said the government was implementing safety measures against the virus across the province as its third wave was very dangerous.

Provincial Health Secr­etary Noorul Haq Baloch said the government was making efforts to control the prevailing situation and with the cooperation of people it would be able to beat the current wave of coronavirus.

He said the vaccination of people aged 50 and above had been kicked off under the supervision of Dr Sarmad Saeed Khan, in-charge of operation cell.

He urged the people to follow instructions of health experts.

On Tuesday, Health Secretary Noorul Haq Baloch inaugurated a modern 30-bed intensive care unit (ICU) in Civil Hospital, Quetta.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, he said modern medical equipment and machinery had been installed in the new ICU.
