KOHAT: Former adviser to chief minister, MPA Ziaullah Bangash has denied reports that he resigned from the post under pressure, insisting he had no differences either with his party or the provincial government.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said the decision to resign was his own and asked the people not to make it an issue.

“I have done so (resigned) after consultations and in the interests of the people of his PK-82 constituency,” he added.

Also, speaking to various delegations at his hujra in Muhammadzai area, he said he was unable to focus on addressing people’s problems in his constituency due to pressing official assignments.

He vowed to continue struggle for getting more funds to complete the ongoing development projects on time.

Mr Bangash said he had resigned just to stay in touch with the people of his constituency and resolving their issues.

He said he had remained adviser for education and information and technology for seven years, and due to his pressing engagements he had to remain in Peshawar away from his people.

Members of the traders’ unions, associations of teachers and elders from Behzadi Chakar Kotand called on him, and hailed his services for the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
