ABBOTTABAD: Sooba Hazara Tehreek chairman Sardar Mohammad Yusuf has demanded the creation of the Hazara province in line with general consensus among political parties and resolutions passed by the provincial assembly.

He was addressing the Shuhada Conference here on Monday, where MNA Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Hazara Movement presidentAsad Jadoon, Abbottabad Bachaoo Tehreek chairman Sardar Fida Hussain and representatives of different political parties were present.

Mr Yousaf said MNAs Ali Khan Jadoon of the PTI and Murtaza Javed Abbasi of the PML-N had presented a bill for the Hazara province in the National Assembly.

He said the movement for Haraza province began in April 2010 and would succeed soon. The Sooba Hazara Tehreek chairman said the provincial status for the region would serve both political and administrative purposes.

Later, a bike rally was arranged to mark the April 12, 2010, killings in the police firing during Abbottabad riots, which erupted over the re-naming of the province.

Asad Khan Jadoon led the rally and demanded demanded government jobs for one family member of the 2010 firing victims each and a tangible increase in compensation for those families.

He urged elected members of all political parties to play due role for the creation of Hazara province.

Mr Jadoon also called for the punishment of those held responsible by the judicial commission for violence.
